It has recently been revealed that a certain Bluetooth bug in the technology could be putting your data and security at risk.
The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology have revealed a very serious vulnerability in the Bluetooth protocol which allows hackers and attackers to intercept and tamper with data transmitted between devices.
With this latest Bluetooth bug reveal, it seems that almost nothing is safe against hackers anymore.
Vulnerable data that can be accessed via this Bluetooth bug, includes contacts, keystrokes from a wireless keyboard and the information from medical, point-of-sale or automotive equipment.
Alarmingly, the report also noted that an attacker could even forge keystrokes on a Bluetooth keyboard to open a command window or malicious websites.
For these kinds of attacks to succeed, both bluetooth devices must be vulnerable.
